24 Scenemakers: Season 8 Episode 13

March 23rd, 2010 24

Annie Wersching appears in this “Scenemakers” behind the scenes video clip for episode 13. It’s got a very nice quote from Milan Cheylov who knows what’s up: “First and foremost, I think that Annie Wersching is one of the most gifted young actresses in America. She’s wonderful to work with, she’s beautiful obviously, and she’s just perfect for this role.” – couldn’t have said it any better myself!

Transcript

Milan Cheylov: Welcome back to the set of 24, this is episode 13, I directed it, my name is Milan Cheylov. The scenario here tonight is that Cole and Jack are pinned down.
Scott Blackwell, Special FX coordinator: Jack and Cole are getting ambushed, so they drive backwards and crash the car. It’s disabled, and they’re just getting riddled with bullets.
Milan Cheylov: Yes, Jack gets shot in this and for a split second I hope that you believe he may have perished.
Annie Wersching: They don’t know that I’ve come up on scene, Jack is on the ground, out of ammo… He’s been shot, and I get the guy right before he gets Jack.
Milan Cheylov: Cut it, ahhh, that’s the one! First and foremost, I think that Annie Wersching is one of the most gifted young actresses in America. She’s wonderful to work with, she’s beautiful obviously, and she’s just perfect for this role.
Annie Wersching: I love the stunts, I love the gun work, it’s fun.
Stan Blackwell, Special FX coordinator: We have the guns up here out of camera, shooting down into the windshield as the sniper was shooting, and we had another sheet of Lexan on the inside of the windshield. So as it was hit, no chance of getting glass on the actors or anything. These were all pre-done, we worked a few weekends getting all this down. We start out with the fresh car, put a dimple in this, and then put the squib down here which is a little explosive device. So every one of these holes basically has one of these in it, then we send it off to paint.
Milan Cheylov: We’ve been here for four nights straight, we started at sun up, we’ve rehearsed through the day, and as soon as it’s dark which is around 6:30 now, we start shooting. And we shoot until sun up. So there’s been some long days out here, but as you can see it’s a very pleasant night and we’re all having a lot of fun. Thanks for watching episode 13 and come back and see us next week for another action-packed adventure on 24.
