Annie Wersching: Hello, how are you?
Rocky and Sue: So excited you’re back on television.
Annie Wersching: Yeah, me too, thank you!
Rocky and Sue: Now thanks to our local FOX affiliate, I have seen the first four hours. The first two episodes.
Annie Wersching: Oh, how do you have the hookup?
Rocky and Sue: I think I’m a bigger fan than you.
Annie Wersching: I don’t know if that exists, I was a pretty big fan of the show!
Rocky and Sue: First of all, welcome back. Glad to see you’re back for another season of 24.
Annie Wersching: Thank you, thank you. Me too. It’s very different from last year, so it’s gonna be really fun.
Rocky and Sue: And you are a badass.
Annie Wersching: Right? It’s crazy, huh?
Rocky and Sue: Isn’t it fun? Is that you in real life, or do you just get to play one.
Annie Wersching: Well I’d say it’s a mixture. I like to think of myself as being able to handle myself, but I’m definitely not as dark and messed up. I’m a little bit more of a happier person *laughs*.
Rocky and Sue: Is it a good release though, doing those kinds of scenes?
Annie Wersching: Oh yeah. I mean, kicking ass and shooting guns, and running around with Kiefer? That’s pretty fabulous.
Rocky and Sue: That’s right. And tonight, in I guess hour number three, there’s a pretty intense scene involving you. I don’t wanna give too much away.
Annie Wersching: Oh yeah. Actually it’s hour four, but yes. That was actually the first scene I shot back for this season. It’s pretty intense.
Rocky and Sue: Now how far along are you guys in the show this season? Cause rumor has it, this could be Kiefer Sutherland’s last season and they’re kinda leaving the last couple of shows open-ended depending on how that goes with Kiefer.
Annie Wersching: We’ve shot eighteen episodes so far, we’re about to start 19 and 20 and… I’ve heard everything, your guess is as good as mine. Kiefer has said that he would be up for doing another season. And it has a lot to do with, you know, it’s an expensive show to make. So it has to do with a lot of things like licensing and just a lot of silly stuff. So I think it’s still completely up in the air, 50-50.
Rocky and Sue: There are a lot of characters.
Annie Wersching: Yes.
Rocky and Sue: Yeah, a lot of characters. And that’s why I think for those who maybe missed a season or whatever, they feel like they can’t catch up.
Annie Wersching: Oh you could totally catch up! You gotta do it! There’s a lot of new characters this year too, so you’d be starting fresh with them just like the rest of us.
Rocky and Sue: And Freddie Prinze Jr. is awesome.
Annie Wersching: Yeah, isn’t he good? And he’s like the nicest guy in the world. He’s been a really fun addition this year.
Rocky and Sue: How hard is it for you to keep quiet on what’s coming up in the show? Do your friends bug you?
Annie Wersching: Oh it’s torture! For instance, things like.. What you were talking about, the end of episode 4. I just get so excited cause I’m such a fan of the show and I’m so excited about different things. I’m bursting at the seams to tell people but… I also don’t wanna ruin it cause it is so exciting, I can’t wait for people to see.
Rocky and Sue: And it’s kinda like a car race, like NASCAR. People go for the crashes, and we have lots of crashes in your show.
Annie Wersching: *Laughs* Yes there are, for sure.
Rocky and Sue: Again, this is Annie Wersching, she plays FBI Agent Renee Walker on 24. Your boss, Kiefer Sutherland. Kinda like your boss. Did you see him when he was on Letterman?
Annie Wersching: I did, unfortunately. Yes. I guess he apparently lost a bet about the Patriots. I just wish he’d have chosen a better dress! *laughs*
Rocky and Sue: Yeah *laughs* He came out, he lost a bet and he had to come out on Letterman wearing a dress.
Annie Wersching: Yes, but it was not a very attractive one!
Rocky and Sue: No, it was like something your Aunt Melba would wear or something.
Annie Wersching: Exactly! It was like a thrift store/hospital gown/grandma dress. Like what’s going on here?
Rocky and Sue: And you may have to teach him how to sit like a lady, cause… It wasn’t pretty.
Annie Wersching: I know. It’s good actually he wasn’t sitting like a lady. I’m glad he didn’t have heels and [panty]hose on and looked perfect in the dress. So that’s a good sign *laughs*
Rocky and Sue: That would be terrible for his image! *laughs*
Annie Wersching: Yes! *laughs*
Rocky and Sue: Well two more big hours tonight of course. 24 is back, Annie thank you so much for the time.
Annie Wersching: Thank you so much for having me!
Rocky and Sue: Alright, have a great season!
Annie Wersching: You too.
