Jack Bauer brutally tortures and murders Pavel Tokarev in order to avenge Renee Walker’s death. Starts with an old-fashioned beat-down, he ups the ante with pliers, then lighter fluid, a blowtorch, and finishes him off with a knife to the gut. So satisfying to watch Pavel scream like a pig. This is what happens when you mess with Jack’s lover.
Jack Bauer: Springfield, M1A rifle, .308 round. You know, about four hours ago, I had a friend of mine — very good friend — named Renee Walker was killed by a rifle just like that.
Pavel Tokarev: Go to hell.
Jack Bauer: (chuckles wryly) You first.
Jack Bauer: To be honest with you, Renee Walker was more than just my friend. But you already know that, don’t you? Because you saw us in the bedroom of my apartment. Now, you’re either not very good at what you do… or you wanted her to suffer. Because with that rifle from that range, it was an easy kill shot. But instead, you shot her… right there… two inches below her heart, so she would bleed out slowly. I watched her gasping for air… as the blood slowly filled her lungs. She died in agony, which is exactly what I’m gonna make you do unless you tell me what I want to know. (uses pliers on Pavel) Start talking to me!
Pavel Tokarev: You want to know I killed your girlfriend? I killed her. I kill your bitch! I did it!
* Jack goes into a fit of rage and head-butts Pavel, then continues to beat him like a human piñata *
Meredith Reed: Please… please, you’ve got to stop him. Please.
Jim Ricker: He needs answers, and he’s gonna get ‘em.
Meredith Reed: I can use this. There’s enough here. I don’t need any more. Tell him I don’t need any more. Please.
Jim Ricker: You’re not going anywhere.
Jack Bauer: So, why don’t we start this again. I already know that you killed Renee Walker. What I want to know… is the name… of the Russian pig inside your government… that gave the order. Give me a name, and I’ll end this quickly, I give you my word. (Pavel spits on Jack) You think you know about pain? You don’t know anything yet. (squirts lighter fluid on Pavel’s open wounds) Give me the name of the person inside your government who wanted Renee Walker dead! Give me the name! Who inside your government wanted Renee Walker dead? All you got to do is give me the name! (gets a blowtorch) You people are so stupid. Renee Walker was no threat to you. Her work was finished, she was done. We were out. All you had to do is leave us alone. Why? Why couldn’t you just leave us alone? (Burns Pavel with blow torch) I want the name of the person who gave the order to pull the trigger! Who gave the order?! Now!
Pavel Tokarev: Did it on my own!
Jack Bauer: You’re lying. You’re nothing. You didn’t have the authority. I want the name! Give me the name!
Pavel Tokarev: My name is Pavel Tokarev. (Jack burns his stomach with blow torch again)
Jack Bauer (to himself): This isn’t working. Damn it! (spots phone on desk) Where’s the SIM card for your phone? Where’s the SIM card?! Where’d you drop it? You dumb bastard, you swallowed it. You swallowed it. This is for my friend. (stabs Pavel in the stomach to remove SIM card).

This scene is shocking, even for me, and I like to think of ways to kill Muslims en masse, or as horribly as possible so that they die believing their god has deserted them.
“You dumb bastard you swallowed it!” Classic line, that ranks right up there with the hacksaw line. LOL
This was pretty brutal, but pavel knew he had it coming once he was captured by jack.

Jack Bauer just won’t stop. Man, he is very brutal and commits like 50 violations every season.
The line, “all you had to do was leave us alone. Why couldn’t you leave us alone.” is very awesome though.
I don’t think that was lighter fluid though (if that was the case, he would have gone up in flames when the torch was applied). It looked like some sort of acid liquid, like the kind that removes sticky stuff.
Disgusting! So much for the 8th amendment. What’s truly tragic is blood thirsty people who cheer this sort of entertainment on. 24 seems to manage to slip by with a TV-14, when it should be slapped with a TV-MA. I’ve seen R rated movies less violent than 24. Yet, people cheer torture on, they cheer brutality. It worries me. It shows what’s wrong with our society.
I hate Jack Bauer. I hope he dies very painfully.

This website is a pro 24 fan site and I’m pretty sure you 2 knew, when you decided to post your objections to this page!! Do you really think fans of this site will care much for your objections? Come on guys. It’s a tv programme, the whole scene is show that jack bauer is actually crossing the line here and is pretty darn furious when meeting renee’s killer!! Torture and espionage go hand in hand. On any tv show/film and in the real world. its just a simple fact of life, it’s not pleasant, but thats the way it sometimes is. Learn to live with it!
