Renee Walker in 24 Season 8:
Renee is brought back in to help with an investigation that’s tied to a previous case, before Season 7 even happened, with some Russians. She has some knowledge that they need.

Returning for another season:
It’s been good, it’s been fun to be back and to play some sort of darker scenario with the two characters. It’s been fun because Jack at the start of this season sorta started in a good place and Renee started in a bad place – it’s kind of a role reversal for them, so it’s really fun. Renee at the beginning of Season 8 is, well, obviously she didn’t end in a great place at the end of Season 7. She’s gone through some pretty interesting changes between the two seasons, but sorta starts in the same headspace. A little bit of stuff going on in there, a little damaged! *laughs*

We do learn a little bit more about Renee this year, a little bit more about her past – a little bit more just about her psyche and actually what running around with Jack Bauer has done to her psyche. And yeah, we get in there a little bit!

The positive fan reaction to Renee Walker:
The fans really took a liking to her, and I think it’s a credit to the writers. I think it helped that she got to run around with Jack in the very beginning of the season and kinda got to break some arms and stuff in the beginning that they said “okay” and the guards went down and they sorta accepted her before she started crying. *laughs*

Jack and Renee becoming close:
In the future episodes you definitely see Jack and Renee getting closer – and in an interesting different way. He’s helping her through some things, as she has kind of helped him in the previous season. So they have a lot of intimate discussions and troubles that they’re trying to work through.
